So this week Jeff and I were super excited to get in our latest Smallville Season. Lately, Jeff and I have enjoyed this TV series. We got it in the mail on Friday! Yippee!! So, we started a weekend full of Smallville, a Texas Roadhouse gift-card and running a library book that someone lent us to the library. Funny story, so a person in our ward lent us this book and then called me just yesterday to have me return it. She also let me know I would need to pay a late fee because it came due several days ago, something she failed to mention. So I go and take it to the librarian, and the librarian goes, "um, so you're paying the late fee and it isn't even your account?" I thought it was pretty funny. Funny day! Jeff was pretty bummed because he wanted to do something fun, when I needed to take an emergency last minute trip to the library on last notice. Lesson learned, do not borrow library books. Better yet, maybe I shouldn't borrow anything.
We also are getting excited because we hope to one day own a house (every person's dream I guess ;) ) and we keep looking at them to see which ones we like. And for the most part we like the same style, a little bit of differences, but it'll be good.
We set a goal this week to let Jeff try and cook once a week. What a fun experience! New foods (not just quesadillas and hot dogs), and he's finally agreed to it. So, I've actually been really impressed. He's cooked rice and beans this week. He also cooked me for Valentine's Day a tortilla/lasagna meal (to be honest I think it's WAY better than lasagna). So I'm excited to see what he cooks this next week. In fact, he's so excited he's telling me to list things he's learned from me since we got married. He wants me to make sure I write he knows how to make waffles from scratch now. haha. Anyways, life has been great being married to Jeff. Not excited to start another work week because we won't get to see each other. But I guess that's life, right?

Yay for Jeff!
So Jeff had applied for an upper position job about 7 months ago, even though it wasn't a job he was really interested in. The interviewer asked him all of the questions and then told Jeff as he left, "you know what, I think ______ position is more in your area of expertise. Although, you qualify for this position. I think you would do exceptionally well in ________ area." So Jeff doesn't get the job. Well, when that position came open just a month ago the interviewer told Jeff he should apply for the job. So Jeff did, and got an interview to schedule it. Well, close to the interview day the interviewer told Jeff, "You know what, forget the interview.... I already know you qualify for the job. You get the new position." Jeff was ecstatic two weeks ago when he was told this, so we went out for ice cream and pizza to celebrate.
The interesting part is, Jeff wasn't going to even apply to the first position, but then we discussed it and he felt he should apply. It goes to show that, even if you don't think you're interested, or you'll qualify, why not? It never hurts.
