Jeff comes home today from golfing, and the first thing he says to me isn't: 'I love you'.  It's: 'Wanna see my score?' :D  Life with Jeff gets more and more exciting for me.

Scratch & Win Ticket

So, writing a car dealership company I wrote the following:  "yes, I got a scratch & win ticket and it says I'm a winner. Does that mean I get $20,000?" I thought  it was pretty funny :D

Man it's been a long time!

Too much is going on!  Where to start.  Kaylee is working several jobs, and one in particular is taking up a lot of her time, journal typing.  So it has been a long time since we have both posted.  Jeff has some pictures he would like to share, pictures sometimes say more than words, so here we go. This has been what we've been up to for date nights for the past month! There's always time for dates.  Oops, but we can't get them on.  We will try for our next post.
What we've been up to.  Last night for our date night Jeff and I put together our garden! Yipee!  It was tons of fun, planted some flowers and our tomatoes and carrots, peas and green beans.  It's a small garden, so only one or two of each, we had such a blast!  We also got some yummy food and made breakfast casserole while we were planting.  The week before that we celebrated me and my sister's birthday up in Logan.  That was fun too since we hadn't been up there for about two and a half months.  It was good to see everyone.
Jeff and I are looking forward to watching the Iron Man movie with some free movie passes we won.  It'll be fun to be able to go with Kevin and Bruce this next Friday night.  Jeff and I are also planning on making a bucket list together of things we want to accomplish this summer.  Let's see how much we can do and have fun.  :)  Jeff didn't get a chance to do his once a week cooking this last week... :(  he's so good at it, I was looking forward to some more creativity.  :) But we're making spaghetti squash tonight, so it'll be good.  We also got to relax a little, scrapbooking/journals and playing some fun games which has been good for both of us this week.  It's been fun to be able to relax a little bit.

Journals

Poor Jeff, is all I can say.  I've been typing these journals until 9:00 at night and all Jeff has wanted to do is play.  I got a lot done, though.  So this week will be a little less typing.  Other than that, this week has been pretty normal.  Friday night we were headed up to my mission reunion when we got a phone call that a 21k car was sold for 15.7k.  Jeff and I thought, well, let's go see.   So we went up and spoke with the salesman.  He was only going to sell it to us for 15.9k, which is still a pretty fair price, but Jeff and I wanted a really good deal, or we weren't going to purchase the car.  We don't need a new car at all, but if it was going for a really good deal we would have possibly discussed the option of selling our car and getting a new one.  On the road, we met up with Marshall and McKinley and had a sleep-over at their apartment after looking at cars.  We had fun.  The next morning we went to Brigham City with them to drop off their car (because they were the ones who purchased the 15.7k because their car is breaking down).  So they had sold their car.  Then we stopped for ice cream on the way back up and watched the first session of General Conference.  We then left and went to the Peaden house and watched the afternoon Conference with the Peaden family and had fun with Jeff's priesthood night and a girl's night out.  It was fun.  Sunday we watched General Conference and prepared for Bruce's and my birthdays.  It was a blast!  The funny part is the candle wax melted inside the cake it was so hot.  Pretty funny.  What a GREAT weekend we had!  Jeff and I sure had fun, Jeff was feeling a little sick though.  Which is too bad, he had a bad stomach ache Friday and Saturday :(  Love that boy.

Weekend at the Peaden House

So this last week has been fun, but also super busy.  Jeff made a YUMMY casserole super impressed.  He made it with potato slices bacon, cheese, peppers, and it was good.  It has been a busier week than normal for us with piano lessons, tutoring, and typing journals of my grandma Knight.  Jeff has been going nuts because that's where all my free time has been going for the last week, and hopefully just one more week before things start to settle down a little more as far as the journal typing goes.
This weekend we went to the Peaden house on Sunday for Easter dinner.  Which was very fun!  We got to play some favorite games: scum, and 7 Wonders.  Jeff loves the 7 Wonders of the World game.  We had yummy jello cake which I have never had before.  It was good.  Jeff also went home teaching right before we left to the Peaden house, while I typed those journals for about 3 hours after church and the whole drive up to the Peaden house.  Work has been really good, found out one of the other assistants who have worked there for a long time is quitting, so there will be another person getting hired and trained at our office.  So pretty much a lot of new people are working at our job.  Jeff's been reading sports, and I think that's what he's doing right now while I am typing this blog.

This Past Week

So this week Jeff and I were super excited to get in our latest Smallville Season.  Lately, Jeff and I have enjoyed this TV series.  We got it in the mail on Friday! Yippee!!  So, we started a weekend full of Smallville, a Texas Roadhouse gift-card and running a library book that someone lent us to the library.  Funny story, so a person in our ward lent us this book and then called me just yesterday to have me return it.  She also let me know I would need to pay a late fee because it came due several days ago, something she failed to mention.  So I go and take it to the librarian, and the librarian goes, "um, so you're paying the late fee and it isn't even your account?"  I thought it was pretty funny.  Funny day!  Jeff was pretty bummed because he wanted to do something fun, when I needed to take an emergency last minute trip to the library on last notice. Lesson learned, do not borrow library books.  Better yet, maybe I shouldn't borrow anything.
We also are getting excited because we hope to one day own a house (every person's dream I guess ;) ) and we keep looking at them to see which ones we like.  And for the most part we like the same style, a little bit of differences, but it'll be good.
We set a goal this week to let Jeff try and cook once a week.  What a fun experience! New foods (not just quesadillas and hot dogs), and he's finally agreed to it.  So, I've actually been really impressed.  He's cooked rice and beans this week.  He also cooked me for Valentine's Day a tortilla/lasagna meal (to be honest I think it's WAY better than lasagna).  So I'm excited to see what he cooks this next week.  In fact, he's so excited he's telling me to list things he's learned from me since we got married.  He wants me to make sure I write he knows how to make waffles from scratch now. haha.  Anyways, life has been great being married to Jeff.  Not excited to start another work week because we won't get to see each other.  But I guess that's life, right?

Yay for Jeff!

So Jeff had applied for an upper position job about 7 months ago, even though it wasn't a job he was really interested in.  The interviewer asked him all of the questions and then told Jeff as he left, "you know what, I think ______ position is more in your area of expertise. Although, you qualify for this position. I think you would do exceptionally well in ________ area."  So Jeff doesn't get the job.  Well, when that position came open just a month ago the interviewer told Jeff he should apply for the job.  So Jeff did, and got an interview to schedule it.  Well, close to the interview day the interviewer told Jeff, "You know what, forget the interview.... I already know you qualify for the job.  You get the new position."  Jeff was ecstatic two weeks ago when he was told this, so we went out for ice cream and pizza to celebrate.
The interesting part is, Jeff wasn't going to even apply to the first position, but then we discussed it and he felt he should apply.  It goes to show that, even if you don't think you're interested, or you'll qualify, why not?  It never hurts.
